Firmware Engineer
Juniper Systems, Inc is the leading designer and manufacturer of the world's most rugged handhelds. We are looking for an ambitious Firmware Engineer who will play a core role in the planning and development of new handheld computer products.
As a Firmware Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting in selecting and adapting operating systems for our line of ultra-rugged handheld computers. The incumbent will use operating system adaptation tools to integrate various software components from third parties, or those developed in-house, into an operating system image whose feature set meets a wide variety of customer needs.
To be successful in this position, the Firmware Engineer will be expected to:
Develop and debug low level kernel and device driver code to create interface between hardware and operating systems
Troubleshoot various aspects of the operating system or third party programs as anomalies are discovered
Use appropriate tools to integrate various software components into an operating system image whose feature set meets many customer needs
Develops utility and value added features for inclusion in operating system image
Writes code based on the software design. Integrates and tests code.
Supports the sales team and customers in understanding the software, resolving problems, and adding enhancements
To be considered for this position, Candidates must have the following
Qualifications:
Relevant engineering degree and more than 7 years of experience or an equivalent combination of schooling and experience
Minimum of 2 years' experience with Linux or Android
Possess good communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be proficient at writing of technical references and generating process or procedure documentation
