Position
Summary:
Front Desk Assistant works towards the general function of the front desk, which includes:
providing exceptional service to the public through interaction with customers in the office and over the phone
working to educate customers about the Principles of Responsible Pet Ownership and CHS through positive interaction with customers
maintaining accurate and up-to-date files on all animals that come through the shelter to promote quick customer service and accurate information for staff
working in coordination with a variety of professions including staff from other areas and animal control officials
being available to assist with off-site special events as needed
performing cash receipting and keeping accurate documentation of
monetary transactions on a daily basis
Essential Skills and
Experience:
Skills and experiences required to adequately perform this position include:

years of office related experience
ability to provide comprehensive records management
experience performing cash receipting and keeping accurate documentation of monetary transactions
a general knowledge of animal care and animal illnesses
experience providing exceptional public service
Non-Essential Skills and
Experience:
Skills and experiences desired, but not required, to adequately perform this position include:

years of office related experience
experience working in a high volume veterinary clinic
Authority:
Front Desk Assistant reports to the Administration Core Area Manager.
No other employees report to Front Desk Assistant.
Salary:
Depending on experience
Physical Demands:
This position requires that the employee be capable of handling the following physical demands and come in contact with the following environmental work conditions:
be able to lift 50 pounds
be able to sit
and reach for extended periods of time
use fingers to type and operate office equipment
handle pet dander and hair particles in the air
handle various environmental smells surrounding the housing of animals and maintaining their welfare
lift and lead animals from lobby area to kennelEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
